2021-2022 Golden Nugget Award Winners

2021-2022 GOLDEN NUGGET AWARD WINNERS

The Carver PTA Golden Nuggets were established in 1976 to recognize exceptional parents and staff who have given outstanding contributions of time and talent to Carver.  They embody the volunteer spirit that inspires our Carver Community.  Please congratulate our amazing 2021-2022 Carver Golden Nugget recipients!

Lesley Cheung

This hardworking volunteer has been a part of all things Carver - from Newcomer's Ice Cream Social, to Bike Rodeo, to Yearbook.  She has been a Room Rep for multiple years for her two children and was Co-Chair of the incredible Carver World Carnival.  She will do whatever it takes to get the job done.  Always ready with a beautiful smile and a helping hand, we all appreciate the awesome Lesley Cheung!

Mary Divney

More than anyone else, this lady is our warm welcome to Carver.  She is the first voice on the phone, the first smile when you get buzzed in, and the unquestionable backbone of our front office.  We all have witnessed her limitless patience and kindness with our children, but you may not know that she also goes above and beyond for the PTA.  Whether answering questions or printing out last minute forms, she is always ready to help at a moment's notice.  It's hard to imagine a Carver without Mary Divney!

Tiffany Lu

This fabulous volunteer has helped lead many celebrations at Carver over the years, including chairing the beloved Holiday Program and the always popular Lunar New Year.  She has also worked hard in quieter roles - as Curriculum lab leader and Scrip Secretary and Sales for several years.  She juggles all of these responsibilities while raising her two little Carver Pioneers.  Congratulations to the wonderful Tiffany Lu!

Martha Manchanda

There are volunteers who juggle multiple roles, and there are those who focus on one fundamental job and do it well.  Our next mother of two has been the quiet force behind our weekly Friday Flash newsletter for over 4 years.  As the editor, she is prompt, reliable, and organized.  There are few roles in the PTA that are year-round responsibilities and she does it weekly with minimal fanfare.  So, let's take a moment to cheer on our incredible Friday flash editor - Martha Manchanda!

Mai Noguchi-Liu

This veteran Carver mom has three kids spread out over three schools but she remains a Carver fixture.  Over the years, she has been a Room Rep, worked on Yearbook, and hosted Fixed Bid Parties.  She has been a chair for the Directory, Reflections Program, and Annual Fundraising.  Whenever there is a call for help, she is often the first to respond.  We are so grateful for the phenomenal Mai Noguchi-Liu!

Stephanie Raleigh

This mom of two is in her final year at Carver and she has been part of it all - Room Rep, Fixed Bid hostess, Curriculum Lab, and Safety team.  You can find her in the classroom or as part of the Walking School bus.  She has also worked on the committees for various Parent Parties and for 5th Grade Activities.  Creative and generous with her time and talent, please congratulate the lovely Stephanie Raleigh!

Jerry Shen

This next Carver volunteer is recognizable on campus as a former Carnival co-chair and as part of Safety crew.  However, a bulk of his contributions can be seen on various T-shirts and flyers that we have all seen through the years.  He has created event designs, programs, yard signs and PTA logos on countless Carver memorabilia.  Creative, thoughtful and collaborative, we are all grateful for this awesome Carver dad. Congratulations, Jerry Shen!

Annie Tang

Carver is so fortunate when parents bring their unique talents and dedication to our classrooms.  In just a few short years, this brilliant Carver mom has brought her magic to fun fixed bid parties, Family Picnic, Earth Day and last year's Parent Party.  She brings people together with her energy and enthusiasm.  We can't wait to see what she has planned for Carver Carnival 2022!  Until then, let's all congratulate the one and only, Annie Tang!

Carmen Vishwanath

Sweet, fun, and responsible, this next volunteer is a team player who is always ready to step up.  She was the Carnival Co Chair and Book Fair chair in 2021.  She is also currently serving on the PTA Executive Board as VP of Programs.  With a 5th grader this year, we will miss her here at Carver but are thankful for the time shared with us.  Congrats to the amazing Carmen Vishwanath!
