IMPORTANT SCHEDULE CHANGE INFORMATION: School will be asynchronous on Monday and Tuesday, March 29th and 30th. 

This Friday and Saturday, March 26th and 27th, most SMUSD staff will receive their second vaccination. It is reported that side effects from the second dose can be stronger than the first. Qualified substitutes with distance learning capabilities in the San Gabriel Valley are also in high demand. With neighboring districts sharing the same pool of substitutes, it may be difficult to secure enough subs for teacher absences as a result of this second vaccination.

In an abundance of caution, and for the well being of our teachers and students, school will be asynchronous on Monday and Tuesday, March 29th and 30th. 

We want to give our staff the opportunity to rest and recover after their vaccination while at the same time have our students comfortable at home reading, writing and practicing their math skills.  

Students will stay at home on Monday and Tuesday. Teachers will meet online with students at 8:30 for 10 minutes to take attendance and provide direction on both days. Assignments will be posted on Schoology. Students will complete assignments independently on both days. School will resume online and in person on March 31st.
