Here at Carver, we have created a space where students can be creative, collaborative and can think outside of the "traditional" box. It is OK for students to make mistakes and learn from failures. It is this process that encourages and nurtures perseverance and team-work.
STEM is more than just grouping subject areas (science, technology, engineering and math) together. It is a movement to develop mathematical and scientific underpinnings students need to be competitive in the 21st Century workforce. Not only are we trying to prepare students for specific jobs, but rather STEM develops a set of thinking, reasoning, teamwork, creative and investigative skills that students can use in all areas of their lives. In STEM Lab we are intentionally incorporating different subjects across an existing curriculum.
